We are
an assembly of bible-believing Christians who meet
regularly as a local church at 213 Walnut Street,
Saugus Massachusetts.
We call the building a Gospel Hall only because
one of our primary interests is to carry out our
Lord's commission in Mark 16:15 - "Go ye
into all the world and preach the gospel..."
We
believe that God’s message of Salvation is
his single most important communication to man –
displaying his love for us, in that “…God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, the whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life” John 3:16.
We firmly embrace "the faith which was
once delivered" (Jude 1:3) by the Lord
and His Apostles, believing that the Bible is the
verbally inspired Word of God, and worthy of being
our only creed and our infallible guide. We have
a deep commitment to Biblical Christianity.
We gather as a local assembly in the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ, claiming His promise that "where
two or three are gathered together in my name, there
am I in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:20).
We have no denominational affiliation and are self-supported
so we have no visible earthly head or leader, but
are solely responsible to Christ who is the risen
Head of the church.
This biblical pattern of simplicity in the local
church is laid forth throughout the New Testament,
and we strive to follow this pattern in our gatherings
and practices.
The Gospel that we preach is that “Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures”,
that “he was buried and that he rose again
on the third day according to the scriptures"
(I Corinthians 15:3,4). The bible teaches that
there must be a personal experience of discovering
our guiltiness before God as sinners and accepting
Christ as personal Savior and Lord. This is accomplished
only by genuine personal faith in what Christ has
accomplished for us, and trusting that God is, as
He has said, satisfied with that work.
We place a great importance on family structure.
The development and future of our children and young
people is vital to us, and we are not content only
with their good health and education, but desire
that they each would look to Christ individually
for eternal salvation, as well as recieve quality
spiritual guidance and training while they are young. |
