Devotional Reflection

The goal of christian life is to become practically what we are positionally before God. What do we think of Israel as we read through Exodus and Numbers? Now see how God views Israel -

“He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath He seen perverseness in Jacob ” — Numbers 23:19

Really? Are we talking about the same people? What makes this even more stunning is that this is how God sees Israel, not at the beginning of their journey but towards the end as the get ready to enter the priomised land! This is God's perspective after enduring their repeated murmurings, their rebellion, and constant disobedience. Yet God sees them what they will one day.

This is how God's sees us as well despite all our shortcomings and failures. He wants us to become who we really are. "Be Holy" because you are "saints".

Consider these practical steps to nurture hope this week:

• Start each morning with a moment of gratitude for what God has done for you

• We are not a finished product. God is still working on us to make us what we are

• Remind some one who is discouraged or struggling with sin of who they are in Christ.

  
  

By focusing on what we will be one day, strengthen and inspire those around you.
